Seasons After Fall Review

A very beautiful game!

Seasons After Fall by Swing Swing Submarine is like playing a painting while someone is reading you a story. Let’s get into the Seasons After Fall Review.

It is a beautiful looking and great sounding 2D platformer where you play as a little fox bestowed with the power to control the seasons which manipulate the environments and help you solve the mysteries presented to you by the forest. I played the Playstation 4 version of this game.

Seasons After Fall Gameplay

This game is a 2D platformer that includes exploration and puzzle-solving elements. Along the way, you earn the powers of the seasons which allow you to adjust the environment at will. Winter freezes water to create walking surfaces, Spring causes water to rise, Summer causes plants to grow, and Fall causes mushrooms to open up as platforms. This game is a relaxing experience. Something to play after you have had a long day at work.

Seasons After Fall Controls

The controls in Seasons After Fall are very easy. You control movement with the left analog stick. Movement is pretty responsive and accurate. The right analog stick controls the 4 different seasons which can change them at will. There are only 2 buttons that matter, jump and bark/interact. Anyone could pick up this game and enjoy it.

Seasons After Fall Graphics

The backgrounds in Seasons After Fall are all hand-painted. Four different versions of each exist to represent the four different seasons that you can change into. Seasons After Fall game really does look like a beautifully animated, interactive painting. I really enjoy looking at all the different seasons and paintings.

Season After Fall
Four Seasons

There are no menus, life meters, point bars, or any displays on the screen. The play screen is clear of any distractions; it’s just you and the game. Seasons after fall is a different experience than most of the other games out there. Take a breath and enjoy the ride. You kind of feel like you a playing a classic childhood cartoon. Each of the locations is detailed and has great bursts of color. Especially the changing of the seasons. Each one has its own unique background elements that change with the season. It really is something else.

Seasons After Fall Sounds

The sounds of Seasons After Fall enhance the gameplay experience. There is a narrative that guides you along as you hit certain milestones. Sounds in each of the environments are just what you’d expect to hear in those habitats; the wind blows, water splashes, birds chirp, and the leaves rustle. Music provided by the live string quartet further evokes your emotions as you play. I was surprised to hear such great quality sounds and music in a game like this. I found the music really enhanced the already beautiful images that the game provides.

Conclusion of this Seasons After Fall Review

Seasons After Fall is a great game that looks amazing sounds excellent and is great for all ages. Being easy to play is a great bonus as well. This game is nothing new for seasoned gamers who may find it easy, but I found playing it to be very calming as I admired the art and music. In the last half, the game did become a bit repetitive but overall, Seasons After Fall has a captivating story that makes you want to know what comes next.

It is a beautiful game to look at and you will enjoy your time playing it. Seasons After Fall is available on several platforms.

I played this game to completion with 100% of Achievements fulfilled. A game code was provided in exchange for an honest review.
